Job Description
Medical Bariatric Attending – Part-time (0.5 FTE) with Full Benefits

NYU Grossman School of Medicine, in affiliation with Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, is seeking dedicated Medical Bariatric Attendings to join our multidisciplinary team. Woodhull Medical Center is a 400-bed Level II Trauma Center located in North Brooklyn, serving the diverse communities of Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Greenpoint as part of the NYC Health + Hospitals network.

Position Overview

We are looking for experienced medical bariatric physicians to provide high-quality, compassionate care on a part-time basis. The successful candidates will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting, supporting patient management and contributing to program growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care for bariatric patients
  • Collaborate with surgical, nutritional, and behavioral health teams
  • Participate in patient education, follow-up, and management
  • Engage in quality improvement and program development initiatives

Qualifications

· Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Endocrinology, or with the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

· Experience in bariatric medicine or obesity management preferred

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· Ability to work effectively in a diverse urban healthcare environment

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package and a stimulating work environment, including:

  • Annual base salary: $126,000
  • 403(b)/457 participation with a 10% employer contribution (no employee match required)
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursement of $3,000–$3,500, including one week of paid CME time
  • Projected annual revenue sharing payments of up to $30,000 (contingent upon meeting productivity and compliance metrics)
  • 12 annual vacation days, 12 sick days, and 12 recognized holidays
