<p><strong>JOB TITLE:                           </strong> Medical Assistant</p>
<p><strong>EMPLOYMENT TYPE:         </strong>32 hours/week</p>
<p><strong>SCHEDULED HOURS:         </strong>Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM</p>
<p><strong>PROGRAM/LOCATION:     </strong> Front Office; Manchester, CT</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></span><strong>: Medical Assistant</strong></p>
<p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist prescribers or APRNs in preparing clients for their appointments.</li>
<li>Obtain and document client information such as vital signs, blood pressure, weight, height, and changes in medical history in the client's chart.</li>
<li>Monitor medication adherence to ensure effectiveness and prevent diversion.</li>
<li>Document ongoing client progress, particularly regarding side effects of medication.</li>
<li>Collect toxicology screens at the frequency ordered.</li>
<li>Assist prescribers in submitting, routing, and ensuring completion of orders and medication refill requests.</li>
<li>Demonstrate competency in addressing age-related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.</li>
<li>Adherence to professional standards, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements, including NCCHC and Joint Commission standards.</li>
<li>Consult with other team members and external providers regarding treatment.</li>
<li>Stay informed about all agency policies, procedures and complete required trainings to stay updated on current best practices regarding the treatment of individuals with mental illness and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).</li>
<li>Follow up on emails regarding intakes, inductions, transfers, dose changes, EKGs, medication concerns, medical visits, and medical record requests.</li>
<li>Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy.</li>
<li>Perform other assignments and duties as required.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span> </p>
<p><strong>Education:</strong> High School Diploma, Medical Assistant Diploma, or Applied Associate’s Degree (AAS) from an accredited school.</p>
<p><strong>Experience:</strong> Previous experience in medical field preferred, experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology</p>
<p><strong>Licensure/Certification/Registration: </strong>Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or  Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required..</p>
<p><strong>Training: </strong>CPR/First-Aid certification, or obtained within 6 months of hire</p>

<p>$18.00/hr minimum and up, commensurate upon experience</p>
<p>*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as, adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)<strong>   </strong></p>
